Project Description

An oval-shaped lawn was created for this Washington, D.C. home to direct the eye to the focal point of the design — a newly built brick wall with claire-voyees and a beautiful frothy spouting water feature. The wall gives privacy from a public alleyway, and allowed for the removal of a deteriorating fence, which raised the grade two feet to create a level yard. The monochromatic color scheme was employed to keep the look airy; the simple green and white pallet adds a clean, bright and crisp feeling to the garden. In addition, the varying bed depth along the walls as adds a variety of textures to the design. A hidden nook in the garden serves as a meditation area, complete with a decorative tile, making it a quiet and unique space.
