Project Description

The renovation of this Arts and Crafts home in this Northwest DC Palisades neighborhood was carried into the landscape through the use of stone retaining walls, flagstone walks and terraces and through the low fencing built-on top of the new retaining wall, which mimics the home’s porch railing.  The rear of the home was more open and contemporary, which inspired a more simplistic Asian-inspired look, with the steel arbor which separates the parking court from the home and raised patio space.  A low stone wall with a built-in firebox adds warmth to the courtyard space during the cooler parts of the year.
